Anyone in the cosmetics industry will tell you that scents are very personal. They can evoke memories, affect your mood and some may say even communicate an aspect of a person’s personality. While all of this is positive, it is also true that for some scented products have the opposite effect. The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma, allergies and other medical conditions.

Everyone should be safe at work. For this reason, and in compliance with a resolution of record, UCTE wrote to the Honourable Filomena Tassi, the newly appointed Minister of Labour, asking her to promote the creation of employer workplace scent-free policies. To find a copy of the letter
